Skytree has secured the first commercial deployment of its Stratus direct air capture system through a partnership with Dutch energy provider Lingezegen Energy. The system will capture around 7,200 tons of atmospheric CO2 annually to supply ten greenhouses covering 80 hectares. This replaces fossil-based CO2 sources for crop cultivation, addressing a growing supply constraint in the Dutch horticulture sector as industrial CO2 becomes more expensive. The Stratus system uses a moving-bed technology that separates adsorption and desorption stages to improve efficiency. It can reduce electricity consumption to 0.9 MWh per ton of CO2 when integrated with low-grade heat above 80 degrees Celsius. The modular design starts at 2.5 tons per day and can scale up. AI-driven controls maintain stable output across seasonal conditions. The deployment follows over two years of operational testing.
