Skyline Industrial REIT fully leases zero-carbon industrial park in Halifax, 400,000 sq ft
bnnbloomberg.caSkyline Industrial REIT has fully leased its Bayers Lake Industrial Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, a 400,000 square foot industrial park with a zero-carbon design certified by the Canada Green Building Council. The project includes two buildings leased to three tenants, including ID Logistics, a Canadian warehouse group, and local construction firm F3 Group. It is one of the largest industrial parks in Atlantic Canada and represents a significant example of low-carbon industrial development in the region. The park is located near major highways, rail routes, and two major Atlantic Canada ports, making it a logistics hub. Skyline Industrial REIT developed the project with partners Lindsay Construction and Secure Capital, holding a majority interest through a joint venture. The leasing included the single largest industrial speculative lease on record in Halifax and accounted for most of the industrial space leased year-to-date in the area. This development shows growing demand for sustainable industrial real estate in Canada. Skyline manages over $10 billion in assets across real estate and renewable infrastructure, and this project demonstrates how zero-carbon design can be integrated into large-scale logistics and distribution facilities.
