Researchers at Sungkyunkwan University have developed a solvent-free dry electrode manufacturing process for lithium-ion and all-solid-state batteries. By eliminating toxic liquid solvents and energy-heavy drying stages, this method reduces production costs and environmental impact. The team created a one-body material that integrates active materials and conductive agents, solving previous issues with uniform mixing in dry processing. This innovation aims to increase energy density and enable faster charging for next-generation batteries.
