Sirona Technologies Launches Project Furu DACCS in Norway
carbonherald.comSirona Technologies has announced Project Furu, a commercial direct air capture and storage (DACCS) plant in Øygarden, Norway. The project is strategically located next to the Northern Lights storage facility and will use the CarbonLink system to transport captured CO2 for permanent seabed storage in the North Sea. The facility will run on Norway's low carbon electricity grid, which is primarily powered by hydropower and wind. Sirona is scaling the project in phases to reduce financial risk and has applied for funding through the EU Innovation Fund to accelerate commercial deployment.
