SINTEF and Power to Hydrogen to Produce Green Acetone from Captured CO2
hydrogen-central.comSINTEF has ordered a 0.5 MW anion exchange membrane electrolyzer from Power to Hydrogen for the PYROCO2 project in Norway. The system will produce green hydrogen to be combined with captured carbon dioxide through a gas fermentation process. This EU Green Deal initiative aims to create a commercially viable method for producing zero emission acetone. By using renewable electricity and captured CO2, the project demonstrates a pathway for decarbonizing the production of essential industrial solvents and plastics.
