The jump to 359.6 mAh/g for the anode material is a solid spec, but I want to see the cycle life data. High capacity is great on a spec sheet, but it doesn't matter if the battery degrades after a few hundred charges. Does the THTD process improve structural stability or just raw capacity?

Good point. From an industrial side, the real win here is the import substitution. If they can actually scale the 150k ton plant without quality drift, it drops the cost of the electrodes needed for electric arc furnaces. That is where the actual decarbonization of steel happens.

This fits into the double carbon goal, but it is basically a supply chain play. Moving the carbon footprint of needle coke production inside China doesn't automatically lower emissions unless the heating furnaces in these plants are powered by something other than coal.
