Singapore has committed US$15 million to the Global Green Growth Institute's Carbon Transaction Facility. The funding is split between helping partner countries build the technical capacity to join international carbon markets and directly financing high-integrity carbon credit projects. This move aims to lower transaction costs and overcome institutional barriers that have slowed the adoption of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Singapore becomes the first Asian nation to contribute to this specific facility, focusing on generating credible offsets to meet its own climate goals.
