Singapore has partnered with the World Bank Group to launch the Singapore Carbon Markets Program. This initiative focuses on building digital infrastructure, interoperable registries, and monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) tools to help developing countries access climate finance through high-integrity carbon credits. The program targets the reduction of transaction costs by aggregating credit demand and supply. It specifically aims to support new credit types, such as regenerative agriculture, while helping host countries develop the national policies and institutional capacity needed to participate in global carbon markets.
