Singapore and Tanzania have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore bilateral cooperation on carbon markets under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. The deal aims to mobilize finance for climate action and sustainable development by identifying mitigation projects that meet Article 6 standards. Both countries plan to negotiate a legally binding Implementation Agreement for the authorization and transfer of carbon credits with corresponding adjustments. The collaboration is expected to support their nationally determined contributions while promoting environmental integrity and green investment opportunities.
