Singapore has signed a legally binding implementation agreement with the Philippines to facilitate the transfer of carbon credits. This deal allows Singaporean companies and the government to purchase eligible credits from the Philippines to offset a portion of their emissions. This is the 11th such agreement Singapore has finalized since late 2023. The partnership aims to direct climate finance toward mitigation projects in the Philippines while helping Singaporean firms manage their carbon tax liabilities.
