chemicals.economictimes.indiatimes.comSilox India is building a greenfield facility at Dahej, Gujarat, designed to be the group's greenest plant with over 90% of electrical energy from renewable sources and steam from biosources. The plant will add capacity for domestic and export markets in textiles, paints, and coatings. The company also signed an agreement with Hindustan Zinc for EcoZen low-carbon zinc, aiming to cut embedded carbon by more than one-fifth in its zinc-based chemicals. Managing Director Prakash Raman says the company matched its prior year performance despite a tough first three quarters, and expects growth from paints and coatings driven by infrastructure spending. Silox India is also close to announcing a commercial-scale EV battery recycling operation for lithium and critical minerals, leveraging the group's two decades of experience in mineral recycling. The company frames environmental performance as a competitive advantage as global buyers increasingly screen suppliers on sustainability criteria.
