SiC Systems and Copernic Catalysts are collaborating to lower the cost and energy requirements of green ammonia production. By combining a new catalyst that works at lower temperatures and pressures with an AI design platform, the partnership aims to speed up plant engineering and reduce the carbon footprint of fertilizers and shipping fuels. This initiative targets the energy intensive Haber Bosch process, which currently contributes about 1% of global carbon emissions. The goal is to make carbon free ammonia more commercially viable by reducing capital expenditures and shortening project development timelines.
