Shaheen Energy and Anton Oilfield Services sign MoU to explore Rs20bn gas investment in Pakistan
profit.pakistantoday.com.pkPakistan's Shaheen Energy and China's Anton Oilfield Services Group have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore about Rs20 billion in gas and upstream energy investments over the next three to five years. The partnership follows amendments to the Petroleum (Exploration and Production) Policy 2012 that allow producers to sell up to 35% of pipeline-quality gas to licensed third-party buyers through a competitive process. The MoU targets commercially viable projects including third-party gas sales, upstream field development, production enhancement, gas processing, and energy infrastructure. The focus is on stranded and low-pressure gas resources, gas monetisation, and technology-driven production gains. Shaheen operates a gas-processing facility at the Sinjhoro field with a designed capacity of 10 MMSCFD, currently processing 8-10 MMSCFD of low-pressure permeate gas using membrane technology to remove CO2 and upgrade gas to pipeline quality. Anton brings international oilfield technology and expertise across more than 30 countries.
