Seqana, a Berlin-based digital MRV company, has raised €3.2 million in funding led by Pymwymic, with participation from HTGF and Counteract. The company uses satellite imagery and machine learning to quantify soil health, focusing on soil carbon as a key indicator. This funding will help Seqana expand its measurement capabilities to include additional soil health indicators and carbon pools, supporting food, fiber, and fuel companies, as well as carbon market project developers. Seqana has already assessed millions of hectares and works with major clients like Danone, eAgronom, Klim, and Bayer. The company has also contributed to voluntary carbon market standards by co-authoring Verra's VM0042 v3 methodology and Gold Standard's SOC Model Guidelines. The new capital will accelerate development of soil carbon MRV tools and help customers better understand regenerative agriculture program performance and prioritize interventions for supply chain resilience.
