The city of Sedona is hosting an open house on Sept. 28 to update residents on planned solar panels and electric vehicle chargers for municipal buildings. The event, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Keep Sedona Beautiful's EcoHub, will include project summaries and a chance for public feedback. The design work is funded by an Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant and is part of the city's decarbonization roadmap, which aims to make municipal operations carbon neutral within about five years. Attendees can hear from Alternative Energy Systems Consulting, the contractor handling design and engineering. Without this planning phase, the city cannot pursue grants, refine cost estimates, or start construction. The open house is a key step in turning the roadmap into real projects.
