Seascale Energy and LR Advisory partner on low-carbon bunker fuels and maritime decarbonisation

Seascale Energy, the bunker procurement joint venture between Cargill's Pure Marine Fuels and Hafnia's Bunker Alliance, has formed a strategic knowledge partnership with LR Advisory. The collaboration focuses on low-carbon fuels, FuelEU Maritime, EU ETS, and IMO decarbonisation measures, aiming to help shipping customers navigate the shifting regulatory and fuel landscape. Since launching in May 2025, Seascale has already handled transactions for LNG, various biofuel blends, and green methanol. The partnership with LR Advisory includes training workshops for Seascale teams in Europe and Asia, covering topics like biofuels as marine fuels, FuelEU pooling strategies, chain-of-custody requirements, emissions accounting, and future fuel readiness. The deal reflects growing demand for practical expertise in sourcing and managing alternative fuels, compliance documentation, and lifecycle emissions reporting as the maritime sector faces tighter emissions rules. The partnership is a concrete step toward helping shipowners and operators reduce their carbon footprint.
