SeAH Steel has secured a contract to supply 1,750 tons of stainless steel pipes for a UK government-led carbon capture project in the Teesside region. The pipes will be used in the core processes of capturing and transporting carbon dioxide from power plants to deep-sea storage facilities. The company's pipes are designed to withstand extreme conditions, including cryogenic temperatures of minus 196 degrees Celsius and high-pressure deep-sea environments. The UK government is investing approximately 31 trillion won in large-scale carbon capture clusters as part of its carbon neutrality goals. This contract positions SeAH Steel within the growing global CCUS market, which research firm MMR projects will reach around 73 trillion won by 2030. The company plans to pursue additional orders for related projects to expand its role in the energy transition value chain.
