This allows the firm to independently audit jurisdictional REDD+ programs that want to issue carbon credits on the ART Registry. Jurisdictional REDD+ is a much better approach than isolated project-based credits. It handles leakage better by looking at the whole region. Adding another VVB like SCS should help clear the bottleneck for governments trying to get their programs verified.

SCS has a long history with Verra and the World Bank. Their move into ART TREES is a logical step for them and adds some much needed capacity to the verification side of the carbon market.
