New research from the CBI shows that net zero industries now support over 105,000 jobs in Scotland, contributing £10.2 billion to the national economy. This growth is driven by wind, hydro, and solar infrastructure, alongside a rising demand for heat pumps and EV chargers. With an investment pipeline valued at £211 billion, Scotland represents about 34% of the UK's total clean energy potential. The sector is particularly strong in regions like Perth and Kinross, Aberdeen, and East Lothian, where offshore wind and carbon capture projects are scaling.
