Schweizer Zucker and MyEasyFarm Launch Farm-Level Scope 3 Emissions Data Program for Sugar Beet Growers
esgnews.earthSchweizer Zucker, Switzerland's sole sugar beet processor, has partnered with agtech company MyEasyFarm to collect farm-specific data for its Scope 3 emissions reporting. The first phase targets growers in southern Germany. Farmers answer a 30 minute smartphone questionnaire covering cultivated area, yield, tillage, irrigation, and fertilizer use. Each grower gets an individual greenhouse gas assessment, and Schweizer Zucker gets an aggregated dashboard for corporate disclosure. Moving from sector-average emission factors to primary farm data improves accuracy and auditability, and it prepares the company for SBTi-aligned reporting from 2027. MyEasyFarm already runs a similar program with Cristal Union covering more than 9,000 farmers and 160,000 hectares of sugar beet. The partnership shows how food companies can use practical data collection tools to make agricultural supply chain emissions more transparent without burying growers in paperwork.
