Schroders Greencoat has acquired a 100% stake in APF Energy, a Dutch biomethane platform. The portfolio includes six assets, with three operational and three under construction, utilizing agricultural manure and food waste to produce renewable gas for the existing grid infrastructure. This move targets the Netherlands' dense gas network to reduce fossil fuel reliance. The acquisition focuses on scaling anaerobic digestion projects to decarbonize industrial and residential heating sectors where electrification is more difficult.
