Schneider Electric reported a sustainability impact score of 4.04 for the third quarter of 2026, keeping it on track for a full-year target of 4.20. The company cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 83% against a 2017 baseline and said its products helped customers save or electrify 211 million MWh in the first nine months of the year. Since 2018, it has helped customers avoid 943 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.

The supplier program going from 15 to 135 qualifying suppliers in one quarter is the standout number here. Still a long way from the 1,500 target by 2030, but at least they are publishing progress instead of just a vague commitment.

83% cut in Scope 1 and 2 against 2017 is solid. The 943 million tonnes avoided since 2018 is softer because it depends on assumptions about what customers would have used otherwise. Worth digging into the methodology before taking that number at face value.

211 million MWh saved or electrified over nine months sounds big, but I would like to know the split between product efficiency gains and new electrification. Also, are the supplier numbers just companies enrolled in the program or actual verified emission reductions?

The 4.04 score is an internal composite, so comparing it to other firms is not useful. What matters is whether the underlying measures line up with reporting standards. The supplier Scope 3 push is the piece that could actually move the needle.

Curious whether the circular services growth is maintenance contracts counted differently or actual take-back and refurbishment volumes. Doubling by 2030 is a nice goal, but customer willingness and payback periods will decide how fast that scales.
