Scarborough Hospital is undergoing an 8.7 million pound energy transformation to reduce its carbon footprint by nearly 1,200 tonnes per year. The project replaces old steam boilers with high efficiency low temperature hot water systems and adds a 1MW heat pump. In addition to heating upgrades, the site will install 1,085 solar panels funded by Great British Energy. The project is supported by the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme to improve energy resilience and sustainability across the hospital estate.
