Saudi deeptech startup Terraxy has raised $3 million in a Seed-2 round led by Wa'ed Ventures and KAUST to scale its soil regeneration and carbon capture technology. The company's product, CarboSoil, aims to improve water and nutrient retention in sandy soils while storing carbon dioxide for centuries. Terraxy is building a 30,000-square-metre production facility in Zulfi and has tested its technology under Saudi Arabia's regulatory sandbox for environmental tech. The funding supports manufacturing expansion and wider deployment across agriculture and arid landscapes. This aligns with Saudi Arabia's Saudi Green Initiative and Vision 2030 goals for land restoration and decarbonisation. The startup's approach addresses both degraded soils and carbon removal, making it relevant to carbon markets and climate finance.
