Saudi Arabia Refineries Co. (SARCO) and China's Ally Hydrogen Energy have signed a memorandum of understanding to build a green ammonia plant and a hydrogen equipment assembly hub in Jazan Industrial City. The partnership includes a research and development center with local universities to advance hydrogen technologies. This project supports Saudi Arabia's goal to produce 1.2 million tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030 and increase the share of renewables in its electricity mix to 50 percent. The deal is part of a broader strategy to establish the Kingdom as a global exporter of low-carbon fuels and fertilizers.
