Saudi Arabia's Sustainable Ihram Initiative is diverting hundreds of tons of textile waste from landfills by recycling ihram cloths into new products. The program has processed over 211 tons of fabric, creating thousands of items like bags and blankets to lower the carbon footprint of the Hajj season. This circular economy project integrates government and non-profit sectors to reduce waste disposal costs and create seasonal employment. By sterilizing and repurposing materials, the initiative aims to scale sustainable waste management across the Kingdom.
