Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe has indicated a willingness to negotiate a workable industrial carbon tax framework with the federal government. This follows a recent agreement between Ottawa and Alberta that sets a carbon price trajectory reaching 130 dollars per tonne by 2040. The discussions aim to balance emissions reductions with the economic viability of heavy industry. Beyond carbon pricing, the province is also addressing clean electricity regulations and the planned phase out of coal powered generation.
