Sarytogan Graphite has scaled up purification, spheroidization, and coating trials on material from its Kazakhstan deposit. The company produced about 30 kilograms of ultra-high-purity graphite with carbon grades above 99.99%, higher tap densities, and spheroidization yields up to 97.7%. Those metrics meet or exceed typical lithium-ion battery anode requirements, which matters for cost and performance in energy storage applications. Sarytogan is now sending 5 kilograms of coated spherical purified graphite to a leading European battery prototyping organization for 5Ah pouch-cell testing. That moves validation beyond earlier coin-cell trials and supports customer qualification work with potential off-take partners. The results will feed into a planned downstream Definitive Feasibility Study meant to complement the upstream study already nearing completion.

Battery graphite purity is one thing, but the real test is whether the final coated material holds up over charge cycles. Coin cell data rarely translates cleanly to pouch cells. Glad they are sending samples to an independent European lab, that makes the numbers harder to fudge.
