Reducing structural casting footprints by 90 percent is a massive claim. I want to see the actual energy source for the foundry. If they are just switching to a green tariff, that is one thing, but the real cost is in the heat process and the scrap quality.

The DRIVE35 funding is a good start, but the gap between a 650k feasibility study and a 20m scale-up is huge. It depends entirely on whether the OEMs actually accept these recycled alloys in their safety critical components.

Quadrupling production capacity while going near-zero carbon usually means a massive jump in peak power demand. Does the Coventry site have the grid headroom for this, or are they going to need a new substation to make this work?

Interesting to see a focus on 100 percent recycled aluminium. Most structural parts still require primary aluminium for strength, so if they actually crack the alloy chemistry here, it is a big win for circularity.
