Sarawak has formed a special committee to develop its Rare Earth Elements (REE) industry, targeting supply chains for aerospace and semiconductors. The state aims to finalize the study framework for these resources by July 2026. Parallel to mineral development, Sarawak is advancing its carbon market position. The state has already approved ten forest carbon study permits, including one license covering over 257,000 hectares to support global emission reductions and the Paris Agreement.
