Sarawak is launching the Bintulu Transitioning Industrial Cluster (TIC) in collaboration with the World Economic Forum. The initiative aims to transform the Bintulu-Samalaju corridor into a low-carbon hub by integrating hydrogen production, carbon capture, and circular economy practices across its industrial ecosystem. The state is also expanding its renewable energy capacity, targeting 10 gigawatts by 2030 and 15 gigawatts by 2035. This growth is supported by the upcoming 1,285-megawatt Baleh Hydroelectric Project and a historical 73 percent reduction in grid emissions intensity since 2010.
