Sarawak is investigating a new technology to process seawater for carbon removal, aiming to establish a new foundation for carbon trading. The initiative involves strategic partnerships with Singaporean entities, including Temasek and Equatic Inc., to develop the technical framework for this process. If successful, this approach would allow the region to generate carbon credits by removing CO2 directly from the ocean. The Sarawak Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability is currently working with technology partners to refine the implementation and scalability of the innovation.
