Samsung Electronics brought Korea's Minister of Climate, Energy and Environment to its AI Modular Home show unit in Hwaseong to demonstrate a low-carbon housing package. The model combines heat pumps for heating, cooling and hot water with solar panels, battery storage, and SmartThings Energy controls that track generation and consumption in real time. The company also introduced the EHS All-in-One heat pump for the domestic market. It uses one outdoor unit for cooling, floor heating, and hot water, and applies heat recovery to turn waste heat from cooling into hot water. Samsung plans to extend the approach from single-family homes to apartments and large residential complexes. Samsung cited a 1,500-household project in Cornwall, UK, where heat pumps, solar, and ESS are managed through SmartThings Pro for whole-site energy oversight. The visit ties into Korea's K-GX green transition policy, with the company aiming to expand electric heat pump adoption and cut residential carbon emissions.
