Salesforce has signed a new round of carbon removal pre-purchase agreements through Sweden-based climate and nature solutions provider Milkywire. The deals cover more than 3,600 tonnes of CO2 removal from eight early-stage suppliers working on direct air capture, ocean alkalinity enhancement, and biomass storage. The purchases support Salesforce's First Movers Coalition pledge to contract $100 million in CO2 removal solutions by 2030. The portfolio includes DAC projects from Sirona Technologies, Yama, Brineworks, and Deep Sky; ocean alkalinity enhancement from PRONOE and Alkamy Carbon; and biomass storage from Carba and Cowboy Clean Fuels. Salesforce says each contract helps get a pilot or demonstration unit built and generates learnings for future deployments. This follows an earlier round in January 2026 covering 19 suppliers. Early buyers like Salesforce are meant to bring down costs and help unproven removal pathways scale. The article does not detail power supply for DAC projects or certification standards, so those remain open questions for anyone tracking the sector.
