Sagar Adani: Accelerating Electrification Is Key for Energy Security and Clean Power
udaipurkiran.comSagar Adani, Executive Director of Adani Green Energy, told the Adani Green Energy Dialogue in London that rapid electrification is essential for energy security, affordability, and sustainability. He stressed that renewable energy must be paired with battery storage and pumped storage to deliver reliable, round-the-clock clean electricity. Adani Green is targeting 50 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, with the world's largest renewable plant in Khavda, Gujarat integrating large-scale storage. The event, held during London Climate Action Week, included policymakers and investors discussing infrastructure needs for the clean energy transition. Lord Adair Turner of the Energy Transitions Commission said clean electrification is the most critical step toward a zero-emission economy. Nigel Topping noted that real benefits come when electrification reaches sectors still using fossil fuels. The Adani Group has committed over $100 billion to energy transition, including green hydrogen, transmission, and nuclear power.
