Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is expensive, costing 2 to 4 times more than conventional Jet-A. That price gap creates a strong incentive for fraud: blending cheap Jet-A with SAF and selling the mix as pure SAF. SAFlock proposes a tamper-proof chain of custody to track the carbon intensity grade of SAF from refinery to aircraft, preventing dilution, double-counting, and mislabeling. With 50 airlines now using SAF and global consumption expected to reach billions of gallons by 2030, the market needs reliable verification. SAFlock aims to make the fuel supply chain transparent and immutable, ensuring buyers get the carbon reduction they pay for and can legitimately claim emissions credits.
