Rwanda is working to bridge the gap between climate policy and actual investment by developing a pipeline of bankable renewable energy projects. Lawmakers and international partners are focusing on Community Green Energy Zones to aggregate small scale projects into larger, investable portfolios that can attract global capital. The strategy includes leveraging carbon markets and government incentives, such as tax exemptions for electric vehicles, to de-risk investments. Key priority areas for emission reductions and carbon credit generation include hydropower, electric mobility, and methane extraction from Lake Kivu.
