Rwanda earns $1.5 million from carbon credits, registers 29 projects
eastleighvoice.co.keRwanda has earned about $1.5 million from selling carbon credits, with 29 projects now registered under its 2023 carbon market framework. The projects span forestry, agriculture, waste management, renewable energy, and electric mobility. Some are already selling credits, while others are still going through external verification. Credit prices range from $14 to $45 per tonne. Rwanda also has a cooperation agreement with Singapore for cross-border credit purchases. The Carbon Markets Africa Summit in Kigali this October will showcase a pipeline of African projects to connect developers with investors.
