Developer Rosefellow is constructing a low-carbon industrial hub in Laval, Quebec, designed to reduce energy consumption by 34 percent and greenhouse gas emissions by 49 percent compared to market averages. The project utilizes a hybrid structure of steel and mass timber to lower embodied carbon by 180 tonnes. The facility will feature solar panels on the roof and walls to generate 10 percent of its electricity, alongside energy recovery ventilation units that are 92 percent more efficient than industry standards. The development aims for LEED Gold certification and alignment with Canada Green Building Council Zero Carbon Building Standards.
