Robotic Dogs Used for Leak Detection at Northern Lights Carbon Storage Hub
interestingengineering.comEquinor is using ANYbotics quadrupeds to patrol the Northern Lights carbon storage facility in Norway. These robots use acoustic imaging and gas sensors to find microscopic leaks in the infrastructure that pumps liquid CO2 into undersea reservoirs. Automating these inspections reduces human exposure to hazardous environments and prevents carbon leakage. The technology has already shown results in industrial settings, reducing emissions by identifying compressed air leaks in cement plants.
