Rio Tinto signed a long-term agreement with RevoCast Aluminum Billets to supply aluminium from its Kitimat smelter to a new casting facility in Langley, B.C. The plant combines primary aluminium from Kitimat, which runs on hydropower, with recycled material to produce billet for North American manufacturers. Rio Tinto will exclusively market the billet, but says the deal does not change production, jobs, or shifts at Kitimat. The companies say the arrangement brings production closer to customers and increases recycled content in the finished product. Rio Tinto did not disclose volumes or contract length, calling that commercial information. RevoCast started up the Langley facility in August 2026, and supply from Kitimat began that same year.
