Rio Tinto and RevoCast sign long term deal for low-carbon aluminum billet in North America

Rio Tinto has signed a long term agreement with RevoCast Aluminum Billets Ltd. to supply low-carbon aluminum billet to extrusion customers across North America. Under the deal, Rio Tinto will market billet produced at RevoCast's new casting facility in Langley, British Columbia. The arrangement pairs Rio Tinto's low-carbon primary aluminum with RevoCast's recycled aluminum. That mix is meant to give manufacturers access to lower carbon material closer to their own operations. For buyers, the practical question is what share of recycled content makes up the final billet and what verification backs the low-carbon claim.
