Reverion Raises $175M to Scale Carbon-Negative, Dispatchable Power Plants for Data Centers
renewableenergymagazine.comReverion, a German manufacturer of reversible solid oxide electrolysis and fuel cell systems, raised $175 million in Series B funding to scale production. The company reports 74.2% electrical efficiency in live customer operation, roughly double conventional generators. Its systems can run on renewable gas to produce power, capture biogenic CO2 for reuse or storage, and reverse into electrolysis mode to turn surplus electricity into storable gas. The round includes backing from Kembara, Allianz, KfW Capital, Aurum Impact, and Carbon Equity. Reverion plans to use the funds to build a new megafactory in Germany, increasing annual manufacturing capacity to 250 MW, and to grow its project pipeline, which the company values at over $2 billion. It is also targeting data centers that face grid connection delays and need firm, on-site power.
