Reverion raises $175m to scale carbon-negative biogas power plants, plans tenfold capacity increase
finance.yahoo.comGermany-based Reverion has raised $175m in a Series B round led by Kembara, with participation from Allianz, KfW Capital, and Carbon Equity. The company makes containerized power systems that convert biogas into electricity while capturing biogenic CO2, and it claims an electrical efficiency of 74.2% in live customer operation. The funding will go toward a new production facility in Germany, scaling manufacturing to 250MW per year and adding up to 800 jobs. Reverion says its systems can also run on natural gas or hydrogen and switch into electrolysis mode to store surplus electricity as gas. The company sees demand beyond biogas sites, including data centers facing grid connection delays and power price volatility. Its commercial project pipeline reportedly exceeds $2bn in potential revenue, with international expansion planned later this year.
