Reverion, a German startup, closed a $175 million Series B led by Kembara to scale production of its reversible solid oxide fuel cells. The new megafactory in Germany will have 250MW annual capacity, a tenfold increase. The company's systems convert biogas or natural gas into electricity at 74.2% electrical efficiency, capturing CO2 for reuse or storage, making it carbon-negative on biogas. Demand is surging from data centers facing grid connection delays. Reverion's containerized units generate power on-site, independent of grid expansion. With seven commercial plants operating and 500kW output per unit, the company targets the $2 billion pipeline and international deliveries this year. It faces competition from Bloom Energy, but claims higher efficiency and reversibility as key differentiators.
