Cornwall-based climate firm Restord has secured £1 million in funding to scale its biochar production. By using pyrolysis to convert green waste and woody biomass into biochar, the company aims to remove approximately 2,000 tonnes of CO2 per year and sequester it in farmland soil for over a century. The funding package was provided by Oxbury Bank and supported by the Green Finance Institute's Carbon Dioxide Removal Catalyst programme. This move marks a transition from pilot trials to larger scale commercial operations across the South West of England.
