Reservoir Link Energy Bhd, through its 60% owned subsidiary Reservoir Link Solutions, has been appointed by Petronas as a panel contractor for a five-year term starting May 2026. The contract covers integrated discovered resource assessment for carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) and contaminant services under Package 2. This means Reservoir Link will handle data consolidation, geological and geophysical evaluation, subsurface and surface development planning, and economic analysis for Petronas CCUS projects. The appointment strengthens Reservoir Link's role in Malaysia's energy transition beyond traditional oil and gas work. The company already has a portfolio in well services, renewables, and other low-carbon initiatives. This contract gives them a direct line into Petronas CCUS work through mini-bidding and direct award exercises over the next five years. For anyone tracking CCUS deployment in Southeast Asia, this is a concrete signal that Petronas is moving forward with subsurface assessment work tied to carbon storage.
