Repsol's low carbon generation unit recorded a 4 million euro adjusted net loss in the first quarter of 2026. Despite a 30 percent increase in installed renewable capacity reaching 6 GW, the unit struggled with a sharp decline in electricity prices within the Spanish market. Heavy rainfall contributed to a nearly 50 percent drop in pool prices, which offset the gains from higher power output. While renewable income fell, the company saw slight growth in its gas fired power production due to increased volumes.
