Remove launches first CDR accelerator program in Latin America for early-stage carbon removal startups
carbonherald.comRemove, a non-profit carbon dioxide removal accelerator, has opened applications for its first Latin American cohort. The 8-month program targets early-stage teams developing durable CDR solutions in the region. It is backed by Milkywire's Climate Transformation Fund and aims to build local ecosystem capacity for carbon removal. The accelerator is split into two stages. Foundations covers LatAm-specific carbon markets, MRV issues, and buyer perspectives. Leap offers selected participants a pre-purchase agreement worth roughly $17,000 to create early demand signals. Remove takes no equity and provides post-program support including fundraising tools and expert networks. Applications close on August 30, 2026. Latin America has strong natural resources and industrial systems for CDR, but the region still lacks dedicated startup support. This program is one attempt to fill that gap.
