REFCOM hits 10,000 members as heat pump demand drives F-Gas certification growth in UK
coolingpost.comREFCOM, the UK's F-Gas certification body, has registered its 10,000th member. The milestone comes as demand for heat pumps and other low-carbon solutions surges across the country. The 10,000th member, Mayfair Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, received a commemorative prize from tool supplier Milwaukee Tool UK. Jill Nicholls, director of competence and compliance at the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) which operates REFCOM, said clients are increasingly demanding evidence of technical and regulatory compliance. The surge in heat pump installations is pushing more companies to seek certification to demonstrate safety and environmental responsibility. For the carbon and climate community, this signals a tightening of standards in the HVAC sector. As heat pump adoption scales up, certification bodies like REFCOM become a key mechanism for ensuring installations meet emissions and efficiency targets. The 10,000-member mark reflects real market pressure, not just policy ambition.
